The mathematics students at Brillantmont have been working extremely hard and producing excellent work. In particular, we are very excited to showcase our students’ efforts using a range of interactive software to visualise equations and processes.

Bringing this creative element into our mathematics lessons has really inspired our students, and the results have certainly been a sight to behold. From interactive diagrams to trigonometrical animation, our classes are combining mathematics with technology - and having a lot of fun along the way!

From Chemistry to Art, and across all the different grades, students are hard at work and many of our classes have started new topics within their subjects. Whether they are preparing for exams, applying learned theory to practical experiments, or investigating important themes and events, there is a lot going on right now here at Brillantmont!

Every year at Brillantmont, we offer students from all over the world a chance to come and join our boarding school in Switzerland with our Winter Camp and Language Course Programme. For between four and six weeks during January and February, students can take part in lessons, make new friends, enjoy excursions, brush up on their winter sports skills on the mountains, and explore beautiful Lausanne in Switzerland.

So much has happened in a span of a few short weeks since our 2019-2020 school year started in September. Most importantly, we welcomed our new and returning students to our warm and friendly community. Whether they are at Brillantmont until graduation or just for one term, we embrace our students in the family environment that Brillantmont has nurtured for over 135 years.

Each student is different, with personal learning styles and individual talents. Our teachers and coordinators work together with the students to set their goals to help them shape their future.

The coordinators have given us their insight on how the first few weeks of the year have been so far. They talk about their interaction with the students and, overall, how the school year has started for the entire community.

The new school year has brought about new changes at Brillantmont. After more than 40 years at Brillantmont we bid farewell to Mr Philippe Pasche, who has retired from his position as Director.

School has been back for three weeks and life at Brillantmont International School is action packed. For new students, whether boarding or day students, there is a whole new Brillantmont world to be discovered, with lots of opportunities for growth in and out of the classroom.

Two of the most popular academic programs for Grade 11/12  students globally are Advanced Levels (A Levels), which are the national examination of England, Wales and Northern Ireland and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Most international schools will offer either of these two curricula for 16-18 year olds.

Here at Brillantmont, our students have the choice of an American High School Diploma with SAT / AP or studying for A Levels. But why do we recommend this programme over the IB and what are the main benefits for our students?
