Summer is fast approaching, and for Brillantmont International School that means a new intake of Summer Course students eager to learn a new language while experiencing the very best of Swiss life. What’s in store for our lucky participants? Let’s take a look at a typical day in the life of a Summer Course student...
On weekdays, students then head to their French or English language classes which begin at 9am. The first session focuses on grammar and language structure, followed by a 15-minute break.
The second language session devotes time to the practical application of these skills, through communication and practice of a student’s oral abilities. These sessions often include trips out into the wider community of Lausanne so students can put their skills to use in a variety of real-life situations.
We also take advantage of Lausanne to enjoy cycling in the near by woods, water skiing, wind-surfing and paddle on the lake.
Wednesday is the only exception to the weekday afternoon schedule, when students may head out for a whole class excursion. Past trips, with activity workshops have included Vevey Photo Museum, the Vallorbe Caves, Gruyere Cheese Factory, Alimentarium Food Museum and Lausanne Fire Station.
A highlight of the Summer Course is our own hugely popular BBQ on Wednesday evenings and the Brillantmont disco on Fridays.
Sunday sees a fabulous full-day excursion to one of several superb leisure activities, such as trips to local water parks, dirt bike riding, adventure parks, Vallorbe Fortress and rock climbing at the Arolla Glacier.
A day in the life of a student on our Summer Course programme offers the perfect mix of education and enjoyment, which is why our students keep coming back to Brillantmont for more!
