Setting Goals & Objectives at Boarding School

| 0 comments| by Sarah Frei Sarah Frei

Happy New Year from Lausanne! As our students settle back into the routine of classes and activities, it is the ideal time for them to reflect on the past year at boarding school and work towards new goals. Here are some of the areas that students often set new objectives in

Social Opportunities in the New Year

With a new term comes the opportunity to make new friends, whether it be with incoming students or old classmates you've always wanted to get to know better. Make the point of reaching out.

As the time of exams approaches, invite others to join in a study group with you. Sit next to someone new in class or ask yourroom-mate a question about their home culture that you have always wondered about.

Set the goal to open yourself up to new converstions and opportunities and you will be greatly rewarded!

Challenge Yourself Academically

Starting a term of important examinations and presentations? This is often when students set goals of academic achievement and excellence. With the proper time management and dedication, everyone can reach their goal of academic improvement.

Develop good study habits, start a study group, balance your analytical and creative work, and take breaks for sports to keep your mind and body sharp. Look out for our upcoming blog series on studying tips for more ideas on how to perform at your best!

Join in More Activities

Sometimes more engagement at your international school can mean becoming involved with extra-curricular activities. Brillantmont has an extraordinary array of opportunities to learn outside the classroom. Join the MUN group, sign up for more weekend trips, start playing a different sport, or participate in a theatre production.

Jumping into new activities like this can often spark new academic interests and enthusiasm and is always a good way to get to know new friends. Don't be shy!
