Exciting new school year at Brillantmont International School

| 0 comments| by Sarah Frei Sarah Frei

We’ve already been back at school for a month and so much has happened in our busy BM lives.

Joining a new school can be a scary experience. When the school is small however, like a big family, things are easier and here at Brillantmont, our students have already got to know each other and formed strong friendships.

Getting back into the school routine after the summer break is never easy, but this year is particular, since many of our students have been out of the classroom, learning online for several months due to COVID.

In this context, being a small school is particularly helpful as our teachers can identify those students who may need extra reinforcement to consolidate their knowledge and strengthen their foundations. Close teacher contact and a supportive, caring environment makes this possible.

The whole Brillantmont team, from the classroom and boarding teachers, to the health and wellbeing department, to the administration and housekeeping are committed to making this year into a positive experience for all.

Whether they are here for just one year or for longer, it is important to make the most of living in such a wonderful environment, where so much is on offer. Our after school clubs provide a great opportunity for personal growth, to try something new or to develop an existing interest, whether that be through service learning, through Model United Nations, creative activities or a sports team.

Our Student House Leaders ran inspired election campaigns and are now preparing to lead the others in their Houses, through a fun range of events designed to develop collaboration, teamwork. Importantly, they are also vehicles for change since their voices are heard at the Student Council which meets regularly with the school leadership. We are confident they will carry out their responsibilities to their very best ability.

Finally, the glorious September weather has enabled us to get outside and discover multi-faceted Switzerland – the mountains, the lake, the culture.
