简析英国A-levels与美国High School Diploma的差异

British A-levels是国际公认的考试，也是受英国国家认可的资格考试。已有超过在125个国家175000多名学生参加这个考试。它已经存在了近70年，是最古老的资格考试之一。在Brillantmont，我们与Cambridge International Examinations board合作。在《European Unions Lisbon Agreement》规定里，Cambridge International A/AS levels几乎是全世界高等教育的通行证，欧盟内所有大学也接受这些证书作为入学资格。大多数高等教育机构要求至少选择3门课作为考试内容。所以，尽管它们是英国的资格考试，但大多数大学和高等教育机构都承认A level是入学资格。

A levels 没有必修科目。学生可以依据他们感兴趣的职业选择和学习方向自由抉择。考试按从A*到E的评分等级进行评分，如果学生有一次考试不及格，他将必须重新参加整个考试。对于在一些科目上表现出色的学生来说，A level是一个很好的选择，因为这将有助于他们获得大学入学资格并选择自己擅长的课程类型。

American High School diploma是学生在成功完成高中学业后获得的一份证书。这也是Brillantmont为那些不想参加A level考试或者打算远赴美国进行大学学习的学生提供的另一种考试类型。考试会在一年中通过assignments、 essays、 exams、 group work 和 projects对学生进行评估。每项任务都将给予学生最终成绩。当学生申请大学时，他们的高中成绩以及像 SAT、SAT Subject Test或ACT一类的入学考试都将发挥重要作用。此外，A-levels有时也可以换算美国的大学的学分 —— 一个A-level可换算3个本科学分。这意味着部分学生有机会借助学分数量，跳过本科第一年，直接进入第二年的本科学习。
凭借British A levels和American high diploma，我有机会进入世界各地的大学。我可以用我的British A levels和American high diploma申请在美国和瑞士的大学，如Parsons in New York、NYU Tisch School of the Arts、University of New Mexico、Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne、Les Roches和Glion Institute of Higher Education。
