There are many activities and events taking place in Lausanne throughout the rest of the year. Here are some of the events still to come in 2013.

October

Lausanne Marathon: With a course set among the picturesque Lausanne countryside, the marathon attracts thousands of runners each year.  The event is just as much fun for spectators with great views of Lake Geneva.

Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival (LUFF): Held in mid-October (16-20th), the festival celebrates the best of experimental movies, documentaries, cartoons, and short films. Many of the films are made by Swiss film-makers.

Jazz Onze+ Festival Lausanne: One of the jewels in Lausanne’s cultural crown this festival (October 30 – November 3) features leading international jazz artists. Over five days, the best jazz musicians play at venues across the central city.

November

Lausanne Bach Festival: This popular festival, celebrating the music of German composer Johann Sebastian Bach, begins in late October (27th) but runs throughout November (27th). A variety of concerts are held during the festival displaying work by Bach and his contemporaries.  A number of competitions are also held with Swiss and international competitors.

Metropop: This event is popular with young people, with pop concerts and dance nights featuring DJs and popular bands. November 7-9th.

December

Place Saint-Francois Christmas Market: Christmas in Lausanne has a traditional feel, with the market at Place Saint-Francois taking centre stage among the celebrations. The market runs from late November to Christmas Eve. Around 50 stalls offer food, drink, decorations and gifts while children’s activities, choirs, and gospel singers and after work events add to the festive atmosphere.
