MORNINGS | Up and at ‘em!
After a good night’s sleep in comfortable bedrooms, boarding students wake up ready and raring to go. The houseparents and boarding staff are on hand to make sure the morning gets off to a good start. Breakfast is shared with friends in our spacious dining room, providing a good healthy start to the day with a variety of well-balanced options, all cooked on premises by our experienced catering staff. After breakfast, it is time for the serious business of learning, with a range of subjects tackled throughout the day.
AFTERNOONS| Work hard, play hard!
Once afternoon classes are over, boarding students have the chance to develop their skills or perhaps learn a new one. The vast extra-curricular offer includes a varied sports programme, which may take place in the new Françoise Frei-Huguenin Sports and Cultural Centre, creative activities and community service through Habitat for Humanity (read about this year’s Cambodia trip).
Our busy students work up a healthy appetite for the nutritious , balanced meals cooked on premises and served up for dinner.
EVENINGS | Time to relax and reflect
With facilities such as lounge areas and small kitchens in each boarding house, students spend their evenings in comfortable surroundings. After study period, some evenings may be given over to a little extra study – perhaps revision for a test or extra reading – while on other nights the atmosphere will be more relaxed. A chat with roommates over hot chocolate, or a little friendly competition over a board game, are typical evening pursuits.
The boarding houses are set up according to age and gender, but the small size of the school enables students to have the opportunity to mix with other young people from many different countries, backgrounds and cultures, when taking part in extracurricular activities, excursions and trips away. As students mature, the rules are adapted and students are encouraged to become responsible for their own routines.
WEEKENDS | Lessons may be over, but students are still kept busy during the weekend. Cultural trips, sports events and trips in and around Lausanne and neighbouring cities are all on offer.
