Brillantmont marks the beginning of a unique experience in our students' lives, when coming to study in Switzerland. Friendships will be forged, academic excellence will be attained, and the cornerstones of our philosophy will be imparted: curiosity, responsibility, respect and inter-cultural understanding.
Brillantmont is one of the oldest boarding schools in Switzerland. We've been welcoming 13-18 year olds into our Grade 8-12 School Year programme for 140 years.
We're a small, family owned school and what we do best is see each child as a unique individual, with unique talents.
- Small size makes a warm, supportive home from home learning environment
- Personalised learning experience thanks to small classes and close teacher contact
- Possibility to come for just one term or one year
- Fantastic opportunities in and beyond the classroom
- Amazing city centre location with Swiss nature close by.
Brillantmont is unique, just as your child is unique!
Brillantmont presents exciting new opportunities for boarding students as they prepare for university with our International IGCSE / A-Level programme and American Diploma. Whichever course of study is right for the student, we make sure it opens doors for the future.
Living on campus among both their peers and caring, supportive staff means our students are fully immersed in an environment conducive with educational excellence, so vital at this stage of their school careers. Learning to live together in a multi-cultural community helps students grow and develop as individuals, respectful and caring towards others.
Beyond the classroom we have a wealth of extra-curricular activities - sporting, artistic, service learning or public speaking. We organise several activities each weekend and we encourage everyone to join in, try something new and have fun with friends!
What better than a summer of fun and friendship at the Brillantmont Summer Course? Summer Course is the chance to meet boys and girls aged 10-16 from all over the world and have an amazing summer experience.
Learn French or English, play lots of fun sports or get creative and make new friends.
Brillantmont Summer Course
We look forward to welcoming you to our 2025 Summer Course!
Maybe you already have your place at university; maybe the current situation means that your plans have changed; maybe you just need an extra year or part year to try a new experience.
Whatever your motivations, we can create a 13th Grade programme for a term or year, which is personalised to your future objectives.
All students live in the boarding school and are expected to live by the rules but become fully immersed in all the opportunities the school offers to develop inside and outside the classroom.
Our teaching promotes a growth mindset which encourages students to develop an awareness of their own learning journey.
Whether a BM student is planning to go to university, take a gap year or pursue other options, we offer guidance and student assistance in that transition. We start to talk about the different options in 10th Grade.
Each year various university fairs and Open Days within the region provide further information and universities from all over the world regularly visit Brillantmont to give presentations to groups of potential students. We help students join Open Days or visit universities which interest them.
At all stages, students receive completely personalised support from our Guidance Counsellor and their university applications are well prepared. They also practise the communication skills, interview techniques and role play situations they will need later at the academic interview stage.
In recent years, our graduates have entered universities across the world, including:
In Switzerland - the University of Lausanne; the University of Geneva; the University of St Gallen; Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne; Glion Hospitality School.
In the UK - Kings College London; Royal Holloway London; City University London; Central St Martin's London; Edinburgh University; Manchester University; University of Kent.
Elsewhere - University of Amsterdam, Netherlands; Bocconi University, Italy; San Pablo University, Spain; Waseda University, Japan; Boulder University, Colorado; Parsons School of Design, USA.
